First time here?
Like any good host, we want you to feel welcome and at home at Citizens Church. We know that your first time at a church might bring up some questions, so feel free to reach out to us or check out some frequently asked questions below!
FAQ'S
HERE ARE SOME ANSWERS TO A FEW QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE BEFORE YOUR FIRST VISIT.
Each week, you will experience inspiring music, an encouraging message, and friendly people. The service typically runs about an hour, with complimentary coffee always available in the lobby.
An average service starts with a greeting, followed by a couple of worship songs, and a short video or two related to the sermon series or announcements. We then continue with a 30 minute sermon, and one or two additional worship songs. Once a month, we take communion during the service.
We suggest arriving a few minutes before the service begins to allow for parking, grabbing coffee, restrooms, etc.
We want you to be able to find a comfortable seat, and you’ll probably feel more acclimated to the room if you have a few minutes to adjust before the service begins. You might even make a new friend!
Absolutely! Children 6 weeks to 5th grade have their own activities designed especially for them in Citizens Kids, our children’s ministry. Students 6th through 12th grade can join us at the adult service. If you wish to bring your children with you to the adult service on your first visit, that’s fine too! We are thankful to have your family join us.
If you have children attending Citizens Kids, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes in advance of our 10 AM service to get your children registered, because safety first!
We’re way more concerned with meeting your real life needs than with what you wear to church. But so you’ll feel comfortable, know that most folks dress in casual weekend attire, and even the pastor will be wearing jeans. So dress comfortably and you’ll fit right in!
Not at all! In fact, we don’t even pass an offering plate during our services. Instead, we provide offering boxes positioned conveniently on the walls, so people can give if they’d like. Many people use our online giving option as well. Any offerings we receive support the full range of ministries we offer in the church and community, and around the world.
As our guest, we want you to come and get to know us, without feeling any pressure to have to give.
No, we’re not going to call you out, make you wave, stand up, or dance.
However, we’d like to encourage you to fill out a Connect Card that will be in a pamphlet handout. If you do, we’ll follow up with you via email. We promise not to put any unfair pressure on you to ever come again. Although, we hope you will!
All first time guests receive a small gift as our way of saying that we’re really glad you came. To pick yours up, drop by the Connect Table after the service.
We’re excited you’re considering joining us. We can’t wait to meet you!
